​About Tasks and Epics
 

• Task

  • A Task is an effort that can be accomplished by a single Group Member.

• Epic

  • If a Task is considered to take a long period of time to accomplish and will require multiple Member Tasks to complete, it will be considered to be an Epic and Itemized in the spreadsheet's Epic tab.

  • If a Task becomes identified to be an Epic it should be removed from the Task sheet and placed in the Epic tab.

  • All Tasks will categorized by a specified Epic.

• Assigned

  • Group Members Volunteer to be Assigned to a specified Task

  • The Assignee makes a Commitment to Complete a Task by a specified Target Date.

• Status

  • "To Do", Tasks that have been identified but have not been assigned a Target Date

  • "In Progress", Tasks that have been Assigned to a Member with a specified Target Date

  • "Review",  Tasks the have been Completed and will be Reviewed in a Project Planning Meeting

  • "Done", Tasks that have been Completed and Reviewed

• Target Date

  • A Date the a Group Member Commits to complete a Task.​

  • Target Dates should usually align with the next Project Planning Meeting.
